Mainstreaming or inclusion can be defined as a service model that provides educational opportunities in the least restrictive settings for children with special needs with their peers. In the inclusion model, children with special needs are placed in general education classrooms, and their education is carried out by the classroom teachers. In this model, children with special needs spend their school days in the typical classroom, and their needs are met in the same environments with their peers. The main purpose of inclusion is participation, social interaction, and learning for all children. Evaluating whether or not the preschool inclusion has reached these goals is very important both in terms of inclusion practices and monitoring the development of the children with and without special needs in the inclusion system; results of the evaluations can be taken into account to increase the effects and success of preschool inclusion.
